| I have loved local performing arts during all the 39 years I've
lived in the Sacramento area. And I've tried to support arts
organizations through calendars of upcoming events, reviews and other
personal activities, including organizing choral festivals in 2014
through 2018. I've been particularly enthused with the promise of the Capital Region Performance Gallery as a way of showcasing many organizations that get inadequate publicity and can be easily overlooked. Then came the pandemic. I resumed reviewing in the fall of 2021 with great energy. But over the summer of 2022, I realized that the 4 to 6 hours to required to write and publish one of my reviews would preclude me from giving adequate attention to other pressing projects. Even though I'm not planning on adding reviews to this website, I expect to maintain it indefinitely. Hosting is paid through the summer of 2025, and if I'm able, I'll renew it then. In the meanwhile, I hope that other individuals and organizations will give their best efforts to nurturing local performing arts in the Capital region. There is an ocean of wonderful talent here that is deserving of support. I know, I've seen it. |
